Question: What is the significance of the episode in Genesis 9:21-27? What was Canaan’s part?
Canaan's sin; as described in Gen. 9:21–27; whatever the details re. he and his father; led to the consequence of much of the Land of Canaan being given to the 12 tribes of Israel; because he was cursed by his father, (Gen. 9:25)!
His Father however, was not using wisdom regarding his wine consumption; and in some way was less than prudent!
This was a serious offence to Almighty God, as Noah’s family was the only one that was not infiltrated by the Nephilim; and led to the favoured comment by God; (Gen. 6:8, 6:18 & 7:1,9:1,9:9,).
Interestingly Nimrod was descended from Canaan, and he was part of the corruption of the Equinox charts, which descended into the Zodiac by the influence of his mother!
The whole episode is to be understood in the context of Gen. 3:15; and the seed of the woman onwards to Mary, for the production of Christ Jesus Messiah!
